Thursday Night Football in LA is a logistics problem. Kickoff lands after work. Parking is worse than Sunday. A lot of neighborhood spots will put the game on one TV and keep the music louder than the broadcast. A sports cafe has to treat TNF like a real slate, not background noise.
Why Goal works on Thursdays
Goal Sports Cafe opens at 4pm on Thursday, which is the same window as happy hour (4–8pm). You can eat, drink the $5 cocktail list, and be seated before the Thursday night kickoff. The 11-foot screen plus a dozen 55-inch sets means the primetime game is never competing with a random soccer replay in the corner — unless you asked for that soccer replay.
We are at 8334 W 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90048. Phone (323) 655-5955 if you need a booth for a group.
Coming from the San Fernando Valley
Plenty of the best bars in the San Fernando Valley will show TNF. If you are already over the hill for dinner on 3rd Street, or you want a West Hollywood crowd instead of a Ventura Boulevard strip-mall sports bar, Goal is the Westside answer. Leave extra time for the 101. Get here during happy hour and you skip the late rush.
What to order before kickoff
The Lineup sampler, pirate wings, and steak nachos when they are running. The Goal Burger is $14 and there is a $5 burger special on selected builds. See the menu for pizza pies and tacos if you are feeding a whole table.
We close at 1am Thursday into Friday, so the post-game argument has a runway.
